Abstract

The article problematizes how the management phenomenon occurs in the software sector in Uruguay,
seeking to specify what kind of mechanisms management articulates to achieve the collaboration
of workers. The aim is to investigate the link that is established between the individual
dimension of work and the collective one in a sector of activity that represents symbolic production
and that breaks with traditional schemes both in the form of work organization and in the form
of management. The article has an empirical basis in a series of interviews carried out mostly in
2016 and 2017 in companies that develop custom software in Uruguay.
