Abstract

This paper examines the array of racist statements on episodes of violence in the school space, the
newspaper of the city of La Plata (Argentina). Given the characteristics of the object of inquiry, the
methodological approach was qualitative and the information is analyzed in the framework of the
educational discourse analysis. Among the results, we observed that during the eighteen years, a
distinction is made between coverage of national and international events. In the first case, there
is an association of violence in the school space with young people from socially disadvantaged
sectors. For its part, in the coverage of the international level is associated violence to people of
color black and native.
